Our Memories

It all started on a flight to Rome...

We met at University of Miami's freshman year study abroad orientation, not talking much at the beginning because we were both so concerned that this was going to be a disaster of a first semester of college- and it turned out to be the best decision both of us have ever made.

Somehow the universe (or probably just Nina, our UM in Rome advisor) put our seats next to each other away from the group on the flight to Rome. We shared our first drink of crappy airline red wine, chatted for a few minutes, and went to sleep. Mollie cuddled her stuffies and Charles didn't judge her out loud (that's how she knew he was the one). Shortly after the flight was over and we were reunited with our study abroad group, Mollie told the girls of our group, "Charles is actually so nice!"

As our semester continued, we formed a very, very close friendship that would last for years before any feelings were confessed. After that, our entire best friendship grew into something even more special. 

​

After graduation, we dated long-distance for nearly three years until we were finally able to start a new life together in San Diego, California. 10 months later, Charles proposed on the best day of our lives to date.
